Makko powder is a botanical ingredient used to make incense for thousands of years. It is the powdered bark of the Machillus thunbergii species found in many parts of Southeast Asia.

Makko powder is mainly used in incense crafting as a base material and for its water soluble adhering properties. Its aroma is usually unnoticeable when mixed with other aromatics in an incense blend. On its own its light aroma is woody and slightly smokey.

How to Use: Use as a base material in incense crafting. It also contains viscous binder properties that will help create form and solidity in cone and stick incense recipes. If you use enough of it, you do not need to add other binders when using Makko as a base material.

Origins: Our Makko powder is from Indonesia and Taiwan. All of our products at Higher Mind Incense are free of chemicals or pesticides and are fair-trade, sustainably, and ethically sourced.
